WMS Late Work Policy


WMS Late Work Policy

6th Grade:  

Late Daily HW =  

One day late and lunch detention served – full credit

One day late and no lunch detention served – lose 15 points

Two or more days late – lose 25 points

Never turned in before end of that grade reporting period – 0% (F)


Late Projects/Writing Prompts =

Lose 5 points per day late with a maximum penalty of 20 points

Never turned in before end of that grade reporting period – 0% (F)


Note:  Each marking period consists of two grade reporting periods – Weeks 4-5 and Week 9.

7th and 8th Grade:

Late Daily HW =

One day late – lose 15 points

Two or more days late – lose 25 points

Never turned in before end of that grade reporting period – 0% (F)


Late Projects/Writing Prompts =

Lose 10 points the first day and 5 points each additional day late with a maximum penalty of 35 points

Never turned in before end of that grade reporting period – 0% (F)


Note:  Each marking period consists of two grade reporting periods – Weeks 4-5 and Week 9.


**Homework category is never more than 10% of the student’s overall grade.  

All classes for high school credit will follow the high school late work policy.


MCHS Make-Up and Late Work Policy


Make-Up Work Policy –
  • Student will have 2 days upon returning to school to contact teacher(s) to arrange for work to be made up due to absence from class.
  • Teachers will arrange with student the time frame for work to be completed—consideration for large projects and labs will be given, particularly for labs, demos, etc. that need to be setup by the teacher
Late work Policy –
  • Students will have 5 days from due date on assignments to turn work in. Penalties will be as follows:
    • 1 Day Late-15 point penalty
    • 2 Days Late-25 point penalty
    • 3 Days Late-35 point penalty
    • 4 Days Late-45 point penalty
    • 5 Days Late-Grade starts at 50 percent
  • Grade for no work turned in before end of marking period will be a “0”
  • Incomplete work will result in a maximum grade of “50”
